Fire door inspection and maintenance services
A new service being offered by SMK, launched in 2023.
SMK have completed training with BM TRADA, and now have skilled engineers to carry out fire door installation, inspection and maintenance services. We can also supply certified fire doors.
We provide a certified fire door inspection and maintenance service in line with BM Trada’s Q Mark Certification.
This means peace of mind that your fire doors are inspected and maintained regularly – the Q Mark being the guarantee of compliance with the latest legislation.

SMK provides both surveying and maintenance of fire doors, by using this service there is one point of contact, start to finish, and peace of mind that your buildings are compliant to the latest regulations and standards.
Todmorden Learning Centre
A local learning centre in the heart of the town, SMK had completed a large refurbishment on the hall in the centre earlier in the year and the client trusted us to then call upon our services for all the fire door checks and maintenance in the building.
To have a local company on the doorstep able to provide such an important service made the whole process easy and accessable for the client.
Burnside College
Burnside College is a current project, producing a fire door report and subsequent maintenance works.
MITE
We are working across the UK on various Mitie health centres to provide reports and undertake essential maintenance works.
How it works

One of our friendly operatives will visit your site to have a look at your Fire Risk Assessment and agree together on which doors are to be inspected, including whether a sample firestopping survey behind architraves is necessary.

For the inspection a checklist will be used and filed digitally for each door, with surveyor’s comments and recommendations.

An easy-to-understand report will be sent to you, highlighting issues to be rectified through maintenance, along with photos and associated costs.

Maintenance will be carried out at a time agreed by both parties – day and night-time rates available.
